Dr. Svetlana Pikus did her undergraduate studies at Loyola University in Chicago and graduated with her Doctorate of Optometry from Illinois College of Optometry in 2002.
Dr. Pikus interned at Great Lakes Naval Station, Dr. David J. Palmer Glaucoma Clinic and Illinois Eye Institute, and has extensive training and experience in difficult to fit contact lenses, family eye care, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, cataract co-management, refractive surgery co-management and low vision.
She has been practicing low vision since 2010 and the only Fellow of International Academy of Low Vision Specialists in Illinois and Wisconsin.

After practicing as an independent Doctor of Optometry in the area for 9.5 years, she opened The Eye Spot Optical and Low Vision Clinic in Libertyville to provide comprehensive, professional eye care.
